Global summit Blue economy 2026

𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲

𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚’𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 was inaugurated today at the State Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.

Organised by Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC) Foundation, an initiative of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India, in association with the Commerce & Transport Department, Government of Odisha, the two-day summit brings together 𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒚𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝒔𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒔, 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔, 𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒖𝒓𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒔 to explore opportunities in sustainable ocean-based development.

The inaugural session featured addresses from Mrutyunjay Suar, PhD, Chairman, BCKIC Foundation, Shri NBS Rajput, IAS, Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department, GoO, Dr. M. Ravichandran, Secretary, MoES, GoI, H.E. Karlito Nunes, Ambassador of Timor-Leste to India, and SmtAnu Garg, IAS, Chief Secretary, GoO, highlighting the importance of science, innovation, and policy collaboration in strengthening the blue economy.

During the session, the 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐀𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 were released, and the Startup Showcasing Pavilion was inaugurated, showcasing innovative solutions for sustainable marine development.

The summit has attracted over 500 participants and will continue over the next two days with discussions on marine technology, fisheries, maritime infrastructure, coastal sustainability, and ocean innovation.
